Masterplan / Research / Pireaus 260

This Study, commissioned by the Greek Ministry of Culture, deals with the transformation of the currently derelict Former Tsaousoglou Factory on Piraeus Avenue, commonly known as "Piraeus 260", to an Art Forum, a very important cultural node along one of the most important Avenues of the city.

Numerous proposals have already been submitted and a closed architectural competition was also held to decide on a new scheme. All of these directions though have not culminated to a strong proposal and to same extent have failed altogether to take into consideration the existing beauty of the site.

Our study delves into a direction common to international practices of rehabilitating former industrial complexes into cultural Venues, maintaining in that process nevertheless the History of the site. We do not go into a detailed architectural proposal, rather into a strategy of a sustainable path for the future development of the site.
